A Moment of Gratitude...

This month holds a special place in the hearts of the Patriot Woman Coaching team. According to the National Cancer Institute, there are approximately 18.6 million cancer survivors nationwide. On December 15, 2025, our Founder Charleta joined this group, having successfully won her battle against a rare form of pancreatic cancer.

Her journey to recovery wasn’t easy and she “credits her faith, family & friends, and the power of community, for having beat it”. She knows how fortunate she is; She also knows the importance of consistently doing things that support health & wellness. Proper diet & exercise certainly matter. Yet things like being in tune with your body, paying attention to changes that don’t seem quite right, and then taking immediate action to investigate the changes, are equally important.

Is the threat of cancer scary? Absolutely! But, early intervention can save lives. Visit your doctor. Ask as many questions as you need to; take an advocate with you to appointments so that you have support. Do it for yourself. Do it for those you love. Remember to take things one day at a time. We’re rooting for you, you’ve got this!!

YWCA SHR is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Their latest initiative -- the YWomen Prosper Empowerment Academy is designed to empower women economically by providing them skills, resources, and support necessary to achieve financial independence and professional success.

Patriot Woman Coaching had the honor of partnering with the YWCA SHR on development of their 12-week Fostering Futures for Women Entrepreneurship Program curriculum.
